Red Flag Warning until 09:00PM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Red Flag Warning for hot temperatures, low relative humidity, gusty winds, and a few dry thunderstorms, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Hill and Blaine Counties, Lewis and Clark National Forest Rocky Mountain District-Rocky Mountain Front, Chouteau and Fergus Counties and Central and Eastern Lewis and Clark National Forest Areas.

* TIMING...Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 16 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Up to 98.

* LIGHTNING...

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Some storms will produce strong wind gusts.

* IMPACTS...Any existing or new fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and be difficult to contain. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HILL AND BLAINE COUNTIES ... LEWIS AND CLARK NATIONAL FOREST ROCKY MOUNTAIN DISTRICT-ROCKY MOUNTAIN FRONT ... CHOUTEAU AND FERGUS COUNTIES ... CENTRAL AND EASTERN LEWIS AND CLARK NATIONAL FOREST AREAS
