INCIDENT: FAILURE TO YIELD
LOCATION: Walmart, 12234 US Hwy 395 in Victorville
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 11:38 a.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Station were asked to assist Bakersfield Police Department with the apprehension of robbery suspects believed to be traveling southbound on US Highway 395 towards Adelanto, in a black Mercedes.
Deputies and officers from the California Highway Patrol, with assistance of the California Highway Patrol Aviation Division (H80), located the vehicle travelling southbound on US Highway 395 at speeds more than 100 miles an hour, and passing vehicles on the shoulder of the highway.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to yield and continued to drive with complete disregard for public safety. The vehicle pulled into the Walmart parking lot and 4 subjects jumped out and ran inside. With the assistance of deputies from the Victorville Sheriff’s Station, including a K-9 unit, all four suspects were located and arrested without incident. The driver of the vehicle drove away from Walmart at a high rate of speed but was arrested after a short pursuit.
The names of the suspects and charges filed will be released by Bakersfield Police Department.
