Flood Advisory until 04:15PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Chatham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Wake, and Wilson counties.

* WHEN...Until 415 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. Water on some roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 214 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Raleigh, Cary, Rocky Mount, Sanford, Tarboro, Nashville, Pittsboro, Carthage, Wilson, Wake Forest, Garner, Fuquay- Varina, Clayton, Zebulon, Angier, Elm City, Dortches, Bailey, Bunn and Goldston. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
