On Monday, 07-15-24, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Serramonte Center on a report of a shoplifter who had taken merchandise from Bath and Body Works. A supervisor stated that the suspect came into the store, concealed approximately $310 worth of fragrances in a white and blue tote bag, and left the store. A Serramonte Security employee attempted to detain the suspect at the bus terminal and was pushed a couple of times by the suspect. While this was occurring, the suspect dropped the stolen merchandise and fled in a rideshare. A manager described the suspect as a Black female adult, approximately 5’6” tall, wearing a tan jacket, white pants, and sunglasses.

On Saturday, 07-20-24, at approximately 11:47 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a parking lot on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard on a report of a stolen purse. The suspect proceeded to break the front passenger window with a device, grabbed the victim’s $140 purse containing $60, a CA driver’s license, a debit card, gift cards, membership cards, earbuds, an earbud case, and a key fob, and ran to an awaiting gray Lexus. The victim’s purse was later recovered but without the $60 and key fob. Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
