Pompton Road (Between Circle Avenue and Ailsa Avenue) and Haledon Avenue (Between North 5th Street to North 15th Street)
Haledon, NJ – On behalf of Mayor Michael Johnson, Sr., the Haledon Municipal Council, and Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele, we wish to inform you of an important temporary traffic pattern change in the Borough of Haledon affecting Pompton Road due to utility work being performed by the County of Passaic, in addition to paving being conducted on Haledon Avenue.
Important Notice:
Haledon Avenue
Haledon Avenue will be paved between North 5th Street and North 15th Street on Monday, July 29, 2024, and Tuesday, July 30, 2024, between 7am and 5pm. Please utilize alternate routes during these times.

Pompton Road
Pompton Road will be completely closed to traffic during all hours of the day for culvert repairs conducted by the County of Passaic. Local traffic will still have access to their driveways; however, all other traffic must follow the established detour.
Start of Pompton Road Temporary Closure: Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 7:00AM
Duration: Approximately 4 weeks.
Detour Directions:
For Westbound Traffic on Pompton Road:
Take Belmont Avenue to Tilt Street. Turn right onto Central Avenue and continue toward Alisa Avenue. Turn right onto Alisa Avenue, which will take you to the intersection of Pompton Road and Alisa Avenue, near Gate 1 of William Paterson College at the end of the detour.
For Eastbound Traffic on Pompton Road:
Turn right onto Alisa Avenue and then left onto Central Avenue. Continue on Central Avenue and make a left turn onto Tilt Street. Follow Tilt Street until you reach Belmont Avenue, then make a left onto Belmont Avenue until you arrive at the intersection of Pompton Road and Belmont Avenue at the end of the detour.
Barriers, signs, and blockades will be posted along the detour route and surrounding areas.
