Flood Advisory until 03:00PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen and Hudson and southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx and New York (Manhattan).

* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1259 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mott Haven, Hackensack, Ridgefield, RFK Bridge, Harlem, Fort Lee, Englewood, Teterboro, Upper West Side, North Bergen, West New York, Teaneck, Lodi, Cliffside Park, Palisades Park, Fairview, Ridgefield Park, Hasbrouck Heights, Edgewater and Guttenberg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
