* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northern Michigan, including the following counties, Gladwin, Ogemaw and Roscommon.
* WHEN...Until 1045 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 737 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen, with some localized amounts exceeding 5 inches. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Houghton Lake, Gladwin, West Branch, St. Helen, Prudenville, Twin Lakes Area, Nester Township, Hockaday, Lake St. Helen, Bowmanville, Skeels, Roscommon Township and Roscommon County Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
