* WHAT...Temperatures up to 101 degrees in the Albuquerque Metro and up to 106 degrees across Quay and De Baca and Chaves County Plains are expected.

* WHERE...Middle Rio Grande Valley including the Albuquerque Metro Area, Quay County, De Baca County, and Chaves County Plains.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM MDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY/ALBUQUERQUE METRO AREA ... QUAY COUNTY ... DE BACA COUNTY ... CHAVES COUNTY PLAINS

Instructions:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
