On Sunday 28th, the Petaluma Police Department (PPD) received reports from local vehicle owners who had discovered their tires and rims were removed from their vehicles. As of Monday, the PPD has received at least ten similar reports from vehicle owners on the east side of Petaluma.
Investigators are now looking for additional victims or witnesses who may have seen something suspicious or may have information to help solve these crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call the PPD at (707) 778-4373.
We want to remind community members to call the PPD if they see suspicious persons or activity in their neighborhood late at night. When calling the PPD, obtaining a description of the subject(s) and a direction for travel is helpful. If you see a suspicious vehicle, please also get a description and directions for travel when reporting. If you must park on the street, park close to your residence in well-lit areas and consider purchasing motion sensor lighting or cameras.
