INCIDENT: PC 487(B)(3) - Grand Theft of Property by Employee
LOCATION: 1900 Block of J Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Shawn Walen, 44 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at approximately 10:01 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a report of stolen property from a business by an employee. The employee stole money out of the cash register over a period of time and it was captured on video surveillance. Through investigation, a suspect was identified.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies contacted Shawn Walen at his residence, who was positively identified as the suspect involved in the theft. Walen was consequently arrested for P.C. 487(B)(3) - Grand Theft of Property by an Employee, and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Walen remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $30,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
