Dear Citizens of Sonora,

On behalf of the City of Sonora and our Code Enforcement Officer, Briggs Sims, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your attention to the issues we are currently facing. We appreciate those of you who have reached out to Code Enforcement and communicated your efforts to address weed cutting. This communication is crucial for our community.

Our main mission in Code Enforcement is to beautify Sonora, ensuring a clean and attractive environment for all. While we are prepared to issue citations and tickets when necessary, our goal is always compliance. Working together, we can achieve a more beautiful Sonora.

ATTENTION PROPERTY OWNERS

Please be advised that the City of Sonora has city ordinance that need to be followed period the section below is as follows:

Section 38-34:  it shall be unlawful for any person who shall own or occupy a lot track or parcel of land in the city to allow grass weeds brush or other vegetation to grow to heights over 12 inches within the area of the lot tracked or parcel of land specified in this section.
Any persons that fail to comply with the ordinance listed above, will be cited.
