* STRONG STORMS LATER TODAY BRING HEAVY RAIN, GUSTY WINDS *
THREAT TIME: FRIDAY 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
So far not much going on, other than it being oppressively humid and hot. This, coupled with a system coming in from the west, will support development of storms this afternoon and early evening, some of which can turn strong to severe. Spotty showers/storms may be around as early as 12 - 2 pm, which can be slow movers and produce flooding issues, even an isolated strong gust or two. We will be watching for the main round of storm activity today to arrive after 4PM, lingering into sunset before turning isolated in the evening and eventually tapering off overnight. It's with this round of storms where we can have not only another flooding threat, but possible wind gusts over 50 mph that can cause some tree damage and down wires.
