FLOOD ADVISORY UNTIL 4PM FRIDAY 8/2/2024
National Weather Service has issued a
FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following counties, Macomb, Oakland and Wayne. * WHEN...Until 400 PM EDT. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1211 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. An estimated 2 to 3 inches of rainfall has fallen already this morning. - Rainfall rates in excess of an inch per hour will be possible with potential for an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain through this afternoon. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...Warren, Livonia, Troy, Southfield, Taylor, St. Clair Shores, Pontiac, Romulus, Mount Clemens, New Baltimore, Grosse Pointe, Downtown Detroit, Detroit, Sterling Heights, Dearborn, Royal Oak, Wyandotte, Birmingham, Rochester and Clinton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
