SVRPHI The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... North central Monmouth County in central New Jersey... Eastern Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...

* Until 645 PM EDT.

* At 604 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Old Bridge, or near New Brunswick, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include... New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Edison, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, Sayreville, Marlboro, Carteret, Holmdel, Matawan, Jamesburg, Colonia, Brownville, Dayton, Robertsville, Yorketown, Morganville, Whittingham, North Brunswick Township, and West Freehold. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 10 and 13. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 3. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 114 and 134.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MIDDLESEX, NJ ... MONMOUTH, NJ

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
