Narrative:
On August 2, 2024, at approximately 10:00 PM, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office West County Special Enforcement Unit (WC-SEU) detectives arrested Arnoldo Garcia for multiple felony violations after recovering over two dozen firearms, various types of ammunition, and evidence of illegal firearm manufacturing at his residence in Moorpark.
In August 2024, WC-SEU detectives and Detention Services Classification Unit investigators conducted a firearm investigation involving Arnoldo Garcia, who is a convicted felon and prohibited from owning or possessing firearms and ammunition.

On August 2, 2024, detectives obtained a signed search warrant for Garcia, his residence located in the 6800 block of Simmons Way in Moorpark, and his vehicles.

On August 2, 2024, at approximately 9:50 PM, Sheriff’s Office detectives served the search warrant at Garcia’s residence in Moorpark. Garcia was not home, but returned to his residence while driving his vehicle during the warrant service. Garcia was detained by detectives and a semi-automatic “ghost” handgun was located inside his vehicle. Detectives also located over two dozen firearms, including “ghost” handguns and assault rifles, various types of ammunition, and evidence of illegal firearm manufacturing. One of the firearms was determined to be stolen out of Los Angeles County. Garcia was arrested and booked for several firearms violations. He subsequently posted bail and has a pending future court date on the matter.

The firearm investigation regarding Garcia is on-going, if you have any information about the case, please contact Detective Austin Whittaker at 805-654-3509.
