LOCATION: 15900 Block of Bellflower Street, Adelanto
SUSPECT: Miguel Bustos, 27 years of age, resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 12:40am, deputies responded to a 911 call in the 15900 block of Bellflower Street in Adelanto.
Deputies arrived at the residence and learned the suspect, Miguel Penalosa, allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, smashed her car windows with a hammer, and pulled her into an RV parked on the property.
Deputies successfully evacuated 10 family members from the residence and made public announcements for the suspect to surrender. After unsuccessful negotiations with the suspect to exit, deputies deployed pepper balls to the RV window. Deployment of the pepper balls was successful, and Miguel exited the RV and was taken into custody without further incident. The victim was found safe.
Miguel Penalosa was booked at High Desert Detention Center for felony spousal abuse, kidnapping, terrorist threats, and vandalism.
