Apple Valley Man Arrested for Possession of Counterfeit Bills Thanks to Alert Employees

INCIDENT: PC 475(a) – Possession of Counterfeit Bills
LOCATION: Target, 20288 State Highway 18, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Amari Santana Guy, 19-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 3, 2024 at approximately 12:25 pm, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from Target on State Highway 18 in the town of Apple Valley. The Target employee advised dispatch there were subjects in the store who were known to employees to use counterfeit bills to pay for merchandise.
Deputies B. Clancy and A. Sanders responded to the store and contacted Target employees. The deputies were directed to the subjects and the subjects were detained. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Amari Santana Guy.
Guy was arrested for possession of counterfeit bills and was transported to High Desert Detention Center, where he was booked in. Guy subsequently posted bail and was released, to appear in court at a later date.
