RECOVERY REMINDERS - 8/6
As we near the end of our citywide hurricane cleanup efforts, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your dedication and hard work have been truly remarkable, and your collective efforts have made this process much smoother. Thank you for your support and commitment to our community!
Here are a few more reminders and deadlines you need to be aware of:DEBRIS REMOVAL
- This Sunday, 8/11/24 is the last day to put out storm-related debris. Friday, 8/16/24 will be the last day for storm-related debris collection. Vegetative debris or construction and demolition debris placed out after 8/11/24 will be the property owner's responsibility to have removed.
- Ensure debris is sorted and separated, keep trees & limbs separate from fencing & other construction materials.
- Keep piles away from manholes, meters, mailboxes, fire hydrants, trees and utility poles.
- Bagged Leaves: Place with household garbage on your second pickup day.
- Construction Material: Stack separately from other debris, removal of these materials will take a while, so your patience is appreciated.
- 811 - Call before you dig! You or your contractor need to call prior to digging for fence or other repairs. Follow tis link for more details Homeowner - Texas 811.
- Permits: Fees waived for storm-related repairs, but permits must be obtained prior to work. Contact City Hall at 979-265-2541 for more information.
- August 15, 2024 is the current deadline to submit a Request for Individual Assistance under DR 4798 through FEMA
- FEMA Helpline 1-800-621-3362, 7AM to 10PM CST, 7 days a week
- Visit one of the Disaster Recovery Centers in Brazoria County open Monday - Saturday
- Visit DisasterAssistance.gov to determine your eligibility
- September 9, 2024 is the current deadline to submit a Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) through the Texas Workforce Commission due to Hurricane Beryl
- September 10, 2024 is the current deadline to apply for physical damage assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration
- April 14, 2025 is the current deadline to apply for economic injury assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration. Visit lending.sba.gov to determine your eligibility
