Flash Flooding Expected on Area Roads In The Next Hour
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Flash Flood Warning for South Brunswick. South Brunswick Police are anticipating roadways to become flooded in the next hour. Conditions may require the closure of roadways.
In similar past storms the following roads have been heavily impacted:
- Raymond Road at Route 1
- Route 1 near Dow Jones
- Deans Lane

The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches per hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret, Jamesburg and North Brunswick Township. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 9 and 13. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 6. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 121 and 134.
