People who have no place to go for safety from Tropical Storm Debby have been able to seek emergency shelter at Ridgeland School. This shelter, operated by operated by the American Red Cross and Department of Social Services, accommodated anyone who needed a safe place to stay temporarily. The shelter is in the process of closing. Additional shelters opened based on need and storm conditions will be posted in real time on the South Caroline Emergency Management Division’s website at Emergency Shelters - South Carolina Emergency Management Division (scemd.org) or by calling the hotline at 1-866-246-0133.
