Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the below listed weekend events:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. – Outdoor Boxing - Saturday, August 10, 2024
 
Broad Street between Lafayette Street and Court Street
 
Note: In the event of rain, the location will be moved to the JFK Recreation Center, 211 W. Kinney Street, Newark. No street closures will occur if the event is moved to this location.
 
Beginning from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. – Ecuadorian Festival - Sunday, August 11, 2024
 
Ferry Street between Raymond Plaza East and St. Charles Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes for both events.
 
Director Fragé thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
