Tropical Storm Debby update as of 5:30 p.m., August 7, 2024
As of 5:30 p.m., today, August 7, 2024, Beaufort County is under the following watches and warnings: Tropical Storm Warning, Flood Warning, and Flood Watch.
Throughout the rest of today, we can expect to see tropical storm force winds. Additionally, 1 to 2 inches of rain is anticipated (dependent upon location). Due to saturated soil, additional rainfall and wind could down trees.
We continue to encourage you to stay off the roads unless you must travel. Please DO NOT drive through flooded roads. Remember that saying, “Turn around. Don’t drown”. You never know exactly how deep the flood waters are and they pose danger to you and your safety.
In the event you lose power, you can report that information to your power company.
