Suspicious Package Leads to Business Evacuations: No Explosives Located and Businesses Allowed to Reopen

INCIDENT: Suspicious Package
LOCATION: 15300 block of Anacapa Road, Victorville
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at approximately 8:13 a.m., deputies form the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to the 15300 block of Anacapa Road for a report of a pressure cooker left near Safelite Auto Glass.
Victorville deputies located the pressure cooker and requested assistance from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail. Safelite Auto Glass, along with neighboring businesses, was evacuated and nearby roadways were closed for approximately 4 hours, while an investigation was conducted.
Arson/Bomb personnel removed the pressure cooker and it was rendered safe without incident. It was determined there were no explosives inside the pressure cooker.
