Today, Wednesday August 7, 2024, at 3:42pm, the Channahon Police were called to investigate a potential child luring incident in the area of Macura Street and Rivers Plaza Drive.

It was relayed that between the times of 3:15-3:30pm, a juvenile was approached by a white male and white female (in a vehicle), wearing masks. The juvenile was unable to provide additional descriptions. Their vehicle was described as an SUV (unknown make, model or color) with scratches on the rear end and decorative lights inside the vehicle. The juvenile was asked to get into the vehicle and offered candy, but was able to go to a family member's house, at which time police were called.

Officers canvassed the area and spoke with several residents and workers outside at the time. No additional description of the SUV or occupants was made known to police.
