The mother brown bear and cubs have moved into town and been spotted in multiple alleys in town tonight. Please use extreme caution if going outside or travelling by foot or bicycle at night, as these bears have charged or chased people who have come up on them eating garbage. Do not walk or bicycle in the dark, use bright lights and look around you to make sure you don't accidently walk upon them. Please do not put out garbage early and secure garbage and bear attractants. These bears have also broken into cars. Be mindful if you have chickens as these bears have gotten into chicken coops in the past. If you see the bears, do not aproach them and please call the Skagway Police Department at 983-2232 to report the location.
