* At 151 PM EDT, Heavy rainfall has ended across Gaston County but 3-5 inches of storm-total rainfall since earlier today has resulted in numerous streams well above bankfull conditions. The Flash Flood Warning will be extended through 5:30PM to allow streams to crest. The South Fork Catawba River will likely approach Minor Flood Stage later this evening and a Flood Warning may be required for the Lowell to Cramerton area shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.gauge reports indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
