Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, August 14, 2024
 
Court Street between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Prince Street
Broome Street between Court Street and Mercer Street
Howard Street between Court Street and Dandridge Street
Lincoln Street between Mercer Street and Doby Place
Mercer Court between Mercer Street and Court Street
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Broome Street and Court Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
 
Director Fragé thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
