Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on August 10, 2024 at approximately 1313 Hours, his Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Cassopolis Rd. and Mason St., Mason Township, Cass County, Michigan.

Investigation showed Jaime Anway (47 years old of Wayne, MI) was traveling eastbound on Mason St., when Jaime Anway failed to stop at the stop sign on Mason St.  Martha Lee (77 year-old of Cassopolis, MI), was traveling southbound on Cassopolis Rd., when her vehicle was struck by Anway's vehicle, forcing Lee's vehicle off the roadway. Anway had a passenger, Sara Anway (47 years old of Wayne, MI) in his vehicle at the time of the crash. Lee was transported by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for her injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in this crash.

All Occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. This crash remains under investigation.
