Panhandlers Cited for Using Fake Information and Photos to Obtain Money from the Public

LOCATION: Palmdale Road/ U.S. 395 Hwy, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Guiseppe Militaru, 19-year-old Resident of Pico Rivera
Mariana Pasare, 45-year-old Resident of Pico Rivera
17-year-old Juvenile, Resident of Pico Rivera
SUMMARY: On Friday, August 9, 2024, at approximately 12:37 p.m., Sergeant J. Tebbetts from the Victorville Police Department observed a male in traffic lanes at the intersection of Palmdale Road and U.S 395 Highway holding a sign with a child’s picture and writing on it.
The male, who was later identified as Guiseppe Militaru, held a sign that advertised the death of a child from a car accident. Militaru, along with his mother Mariana Pasare and a 17-year-old juvenile drove from Pico Rivera to the High Desert to beg for money. The information, and pictures of the children being advertised was false information.
Guiseppe Militaru and Mariana Pasare were cited for P.C. 647(C) - Panhandling. The posters, jugs and cash were collected as evidence.
The Victorville Police Department would like to remind the public to use caution when giving money to panhandlers.
