Wilmington Police make arrest in connection with May 26 shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a May 26 shooting incident.
On May 26 at approximately 12:25 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of North West Street in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Police located a 29-year-old female gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The case was assigned to Detective James Rook of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Rook identified 35-year-old Keivese Tolbert as a suspect.
Tolbert was taken into custody on August 12 by the New Castle County Police Department, and has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
