The Festival of India will take place at the Fremont Hall of Justice parking lot and surrounding areas in Downtown Fremont on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The parade will take place on Sunday, August 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Road Closure:
Mela: The following road will be closed from Saturday, August 17 at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 18 at 11:59 p.m.
• Walnut Ave – between Paseo Padre Pkwy and Liberty St
Parade: The following additional road closures will take place on Sunday, August 18 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the parade.
• Paseo Padre Pkwy – between Mowry Ave and Stevenson Blvd
• Liberty St – between Capitol Ave and Beacon Ave
• Capitol Ave – between State St and Paseo Padre Parkway
• Kearny St – between Stevenson Blvd and Liberty Ave
• Walnut Ave – between Paseo Padre Pkwy and Liberty St
Parking Lot Closure: The following parking lots will be closed on Sunday, August 18 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the parade.

As with all special events, Fremont Police Department asks attendees to please refrain from bringing backpacks and large bags into the area. All bags are subject to search. In addition, UAVs (drones) will not be permitted to fly over the event.
