Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspects
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Friday, August 9, 2024.
At approximately 10 p.m., Police responded to a call of an armed robbery. A victim, who exited a business in the 200 block of Lyons Avenue, stood outside the store before he was surrounded by a group of males who had also been inside. The males demanded that the victim change the Face ID on his cell phone, with one lifting his shirt and displaying a handgun tucked into his waistband. The victim complied and the group of males walked away with the victim’s cell phone, heading eastbound on Lyons Avenue from Clinton Place.
Detectives investigating this incident describe Suspect #1 as a Black male wearing a black sweater with green designs and gray pants. This suspect displayed the handgun in his waistband. Suspect #2 is described as a Black male wearing a black sweater with a red design and dark-colored pants. Suspect #3 is described as a Black male wearing a blue and black sweater and dark-colored pants.
