INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Ridgecrest Road and Green Tree Boulevard, Victorville
INVOLVED PARTY(S): Gricelda Ponce Sandoval, 54-year-old Female, Resident of Adelanto - Driver of Toyota
52-year-old Male, Resident of Victorville - Driver of GMC
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 15, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Station, and rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the area of Ridgecrest Road and Green Tree Boulevard in the city of Victorville.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a white Toyota Camry and a white GMC Yukon were involved in the crash. The driver of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving measures, the driver of the Toyota succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the GMC was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is under investigation. Ridgecrest Road between Green Tree Boulevard and Landis Drive was closed for several hours for the scene investigation.
