SUBJECT: Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision with Moderate Injuries 
LOCATION: Harrison Avenue and Duane Street, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: August 15, 2024, 8:01 a.m.
On the above date and time, Redwood City police responded to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Duane Street on report of a vehicle that had struck two pedestrians. An adult female and a juvenile female had been struck in a crosswalk by a vehicle proceeding from southbound Duane to eastbound Harrison. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with police. Both of the pedestrians were transported to a local hospital with what are believed to be moderate injuries.
The location of this collision is near both North Star and MIT schools. This incident should be a reminder to all community members that school is back in session and to be particularly careful around schools during drop off and pick up times. The Redwood City Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting increased enforcement at these and all Redwood City schools in the coming weeks.
