Female juvenile stabs two victims at Los Prados Park, arrested at the scene.
 
San Mateo, CA – On August 15, 2024, at 7:56 p.m., San Mateo Police Department received a 911 call about an incident that was occurring at Los Prados Park.  The caller said a female had just stabbed a male victim and was being held on the ground by a group of witnesses.      
 
Multiple San Mateo Police Officers responded with emergency lights and sirens activated and quickly arrived at the location of the incident.  Officers ran into the center of the park where two males were holding the female suspect on the ground.  Officers took control of the suspect’s arms while she was still holding a knife in her right hand.  The suspect did not obey officers’ orders to drop the knife and she violently fought against officers.  As officers were trying to remove the knife from the suspect’s hand, she bit an officer.  The knife was eventually pried from the suspects grasp, and she was detained in handcuffs.
 
During the investigation officers were told the suspect approached one of the victims with a knife in her hand and began yelling at the victim.  As the victim tried to walk away from the suspect, she began swinging the knife at the victim.  To shield himself from the knife, the victim raised his hands up blocking his face and was stabbed in the hand.  A witness to this incident ran over to help the victim and tried to stop the suspect from attacking the victim, however he was also stabbed in the hand.  The two men were able to grab ahold of the suspect and hold onto her until police arrived. 
 
The victims were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.  The suspect was arrested and booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Detention Facility.

664/187(a) PC- Attempted murder, 245(a)(1) PC- Assault with a deadly weapon, 69(a) PC- Aggravated resisting an officer, 243(b) PC- Battery on a peace officer, 242 PC- Battery on a person.
