Today, 17-year-old Johnathan Johnson, stole a Silver Acura TL with a 2-month-old infant inside.
At 1145 hrs, Clayton County Police responded to a stolen vehicle and the kidnapping of a 2-month-old at 836 Hwy 138.
Clayton County Police put out the information on the kidnapping suspect and several agencies started the hunt.
Approximately 45 minutes later, the vehicle was spotted by Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. A traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle began to flee from deputies. After a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed and the driver jumped out and fled from deputies on foot.
Deputies chased Johnson
into a wooded area, Georgia State Patrol Troopers were waiting on the other side, and Johnson ran out of the wood-line where GSP took him into custody. The baby was not located in the vehicle at the time of Johnson’s capture.
The Sheriff’s Office, Clayton County Police, Georgia State Patrol, Morrow Police, and Riverdale Police all joined forces to search for the missing baby.
