Bloomington Resident Arrested After Attacking a Man and Stealing His Property

LOCATION: 11000 block of Cedar Avenue, Bloomington
VICTIM: Adult Male
SUSPECT: Luis Ballesteros, a 44-year-old Resident of Bloomington
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 18, 2024, at about 1:58 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call for a robbery which just occurred in the 11000 block of Cedar Avenue, unincorporated Bloomington. The reporting party told dispatch a male was assaulted, and his property was stolen.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim was confronted by Luis Ballesteros, a 44-year-old resident of Bloomington. Ballesteros punched and struck the victim, pointed a knife at him, threatened to stab him, and stole his backpack. Deputies found Ballesteros nearby and recovered the knife and stolen property. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Ballesteros was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for several felony charges, including armed robbery, assault with a weapon, and criminal threats.
