SUMMARY: On Monday, August 19, 2024, at about 8:08 p.m., Fontana Station deputies responded to a reported assault with a firearm in the 3900 block of Black Cottonwood Avenue, in an unincorporated area of  Rialto known as Rosena Ranch. It was reported the suspect, later identified as Blake Maldonado, pointed an object, believed to be a gun, at the victim. Maldonado fled the area in a silver BMW sedan prior to deputy arrival.

At about 9:03 p.m., while deputies investigated the previous call for service, Sheriff’s Dispatch received additional 911 calls of a disturbance in the 3800 block of Quartzite Lane, in the same unincorporated area of Rosena Ranch. It was reported Maldonado chased and attempted to ram the victim’s vehicle with his vehicle. Maldonado exited his vehicle, punched the victim, and punched the victim’s vehicle, resulting in damage exceeding $400.00. The victim was not injured.

Upon arrival, deputies detained Maldonado at the scene on Quartzite Lane. A loaded, unserialized firearm, commonly known as a “ghost gun,” was recovered from Maldonado’s vehicle.
