INCIDENT: Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Mesa View Drive and Olivine Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM(S): Deceased Male - Pending Identification
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at approximately 8:26 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station, and rescue personnel responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred in the area of Mesa View Drive and Olivine Road, in the city of Victorville.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a royal blue color vehicle drove south on Mesa View Road, north of the intersection of Olivine Road. The unknown vehicle struck a male pedestrian and fled the scene of the collision. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was airlifted to a nearby trauma center in critical condition. Despite life saving measures, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Victorville Police Station Traffic Division responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is under investigation. Mesa View Drive was closed between Olivine Road and Nyack Road for the duration of the scene investigation.
