INCIDENT: Single Vehicle Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Twentynine Palms Highway / Sage Avenue, Yucca Valley
SUMMARY: On Monday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 5:21 a.m., a deputy with the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station was on patrol in Yucca Valley. The deputy was involved in a single vehicle collision in his patrol vehicle in the area of Twentynine Palms Highway and Sage Avenue. The collision caused the patrol unit to overturn and come to rest on its side. The deputy had minor injuries and was transported to a hospital as a precaution. The deputy has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded and is conducting the collision investigation. Surrounding roadways were closed during the scene investigation and have reopened to traffic.
