Fremont Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with multiple sexual assaults that occurred in July 2024. The suspect, Brandon Duran (25 years old, resident of Fremont), was taken into custody on August 22, 2024, following an investigation conducted by the Crimes Against Persons Investigative Unit within the Fremont Police Department.
The investigation began after multiple juvenile victims, who are students at the California School for the Deaf, came forward to report sexual assaults that occurred in various locations within Fremont and Livermore. Through witness statements and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, Duran, a Teaching Assistant at the School for the Deaf, was linked to at least three separate incidents.
Duran was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail for the following charges: Penal Code 647.6 - Annoying and Molesting a Child, Penal Code 287(B)(1) - Oral Copulation with a Minor, Penal Code 287(I) - Oral Copulation with a victim too intoxicated to resist, Penal Code 288.3 - Contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, and Penal Code 289(D) - Unlawful sexual penetration.
