TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Street Closures Announced for Newark’s Dominican Day Festival and Parade
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Dominican Day Festival and Parade:
Parade - Beginning from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2024
- Broadway between Bloomfield Avenue and Broad Street
- Crane Street between Broadway and Broad Street
- Clark Street between Broadway and Broad Street
- Bloomfield Place between Broad Street and Bloomfield Avenue
Festival - Beginning from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2024
- Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Broadway
- Parker Street between 2nd Avenue and Park Avenue
- Ridge Street between 2nd Avenue and Park Avenue
- Highland Avenue between 2nd Avenue and Park Avenue
The parade will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Bloomfield Avenue between Broadway and Lake Street. The festival will also begin at 1 p.m. and will be held from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue.
Within the festival and parade areas:
Bicycles, scooters, e-scooters, etc. are not permitted
Backpacks, large and small bags, coolers, carriages, etc. may be subject to search
Alcohol is not permitted
