School incident investigation 
On 8-22-24, at 1830 hours, the Santa Maria Police Department was notified of an attempted kidnapping at Tunnell School. SMPD is currently investigating the incident in conjunction with the Santa Maria Bonita School Districts’ assistance.
All identified involved parties are currently safe and in the process of being interviewed by detectives.
