Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 08/23/2024 at approximately 8:24 P.m. hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury accident in a residential wooded area in Silver Creek Township, Cass County Michigan.
 
Investigation shows that a 32-year-old male was Riding a ATV on private property and struck a tree causing himself to be ejected from the ATV.  The rider was not wearing his helmet.   MED Flight transported the driver to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

Assisting in this crash was Indian Lake Fire, SMCAS Ambulance, MED Flight, Dowagiac Police Department and Pokagon Tribal Police Department.

The name of the injuried individual will not be released at this time.  This incident remains under investigation.
