As of 12:01 PM, the gas main leak has been successfully repaired, and the situation is now under control. Mayor Michael Johnson, the Haledon Municipal Council, Emergency Management Coordinator Carlos Aymat, Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele, Fire Chief Tom Bakker, Fire Marshal Robert Devirgilio, and the Haledon Department of Public Works express their gratitude to the community for your cooperation during this incident. Due to a gas main leak in the area of Morrissee Avenue and Norwood Street, the public, including motorists, is urged to avoid the vicinity. Please utilize alternate routes to ensure safety. As a precautionary measure, residents in the surrounding homes have been evacuated. Haledon Fire, Haledon Police, Haledon DPW, and PSEG personnel are currently on the scene and are actively managing the situation.
