Isolated Road Rage Incident on Willow Springs Road
Willow Springs, IL — On the evening of August 26, 2024, at approximately 7:00 PM, an isolated road rage incident occurred near the 8600 block of South Willow Springs Road. The altercation between two vehicles resulted in a firearm being discharged. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and law enforcement responded swiftly to the situation.
Prior to the incident, the individuals involved were seen at a local convenience store and exchanged words before the situation escalated. The parties left the location traveling North on Willow Springs Road. One vehicle discharged a firearm at the other, causing minor damage. The suspects then fled the scene.
Willow Springs Police were immediately notified. With the assistance of Joliet Police Department, the suspects involved were successfully located and apprehended. Two firearms were recovered from the vehicle, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
This was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The Village of Willow Springs remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all its residents and businesses.
