Fairfield Police Arrest Man for Morning Assault at Fairfield-Vacaville Train Station
This morning at around 11:19 am, Dispatch received a call regarding a woman in distress at the Fairfield/Vacaville Amtrak train station. As officers were en route, Dispatch determined a sexual assault was in progress.
Due to his close proximity to the scene, School Resource Officer Moran responded immediately, arriving within three minutes of the call. He swiftly intervened and then pursued the fleeing suspect, apprehending him near the train station tunnel.
53-year-old Terrance Royston Sr. was taken into custody and booked into Solano County Jail on numerous sexual assault charges.
The female victim and her husband, who was physically assaulted by Royston, were transported to a local hospital.
Detectives and members from CSI responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Thus far, it has been determined that Royston attempted to rob a passenger exiting the train shortly before this incident occurred.
Otherwise, the investigation is active and ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
