Teenager Arrested for Felony Vandalism

Yesterday (8/27), around 10AM, Novato Police Dispatch received 911 calls about a vandalism near Novato High School. The callers said a group of juveniles jumped out of a silver sedan and damaged a vehicle parked on the street near the school. A Novato Police Detective and a School Resource Officer (SRO) responded to investigate.

Additional investigation identified the suspect’s vehicle. Around 3PM, the School Resource Officer located the vehicle near the intersection of Sunset Parkway and Cambridge Street. The teenager was the only person inside the vehicle and was confirmed as the person involved in the vandalism. The teenage suspect was arrested as a result and a search of the vehicle revealed an imitation firearm, tools used to burglarize vehicles, gang-related items, and a knife. The teenage suspect was booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall for charges including felony vandalism, conspiracy, possession of an imitation firearm, and possession of an illegal knife.
