Man Arrested for Early Morning Shooting; The Victim Is Expected to Survive
On August 27 at around midnight, Patrol responded to a shooting in the 300 block of State Street.
According to reports, a man had been shot and the shooter was still in the area.
Fairfield Fire treated and transported the victim to a local hospital. He is in critical condition, but expected to live.
CHP Air observed a man matching the shooter’s description enter a trailer parked on the property. Based on information that the shooter remained armed, Fairfield’s SWAT team was deployed and a perimeter established. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Kristopher Johnson, exited the trailer when commanded and was taken into custody without incident.
Police detectives responded and took over the case. The investigation is active and ongoing and, therefore, no additional details are available at this time.
