Assault with a Deadly Weapon Investigation

Report Number: 24-4489

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 1:14 pm, Culver City Police responded to the report of a stabbing victim walking near Helms Avenue and Jacob Street. Officers contacted the reporting party, who stated that they had seen a man bleeding; the man told the reporting party that he had been stabbed and then walked away from the area.
Police quickly found the victim and observed a significant wound to his forearm, an approximately four-inch-deep laceration. Culver City Fire personnel immediately treated the victim at the scene and then transported him to a local hospital.

Initial investigation indicates that the incident occurred in the late evening hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2024, near the 2900 block of La Cienega Boulevard. The victim was pushed from behind and then stabbed in the arm by the suspect. Believing that he was being robbed, the victim ran away southbound on La Cienega Boulevard. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic adult, approximately 30-40 years old. The suspect is believed to frequent the area.
